Heal yourself, heal the world

By taking personal responsibility for our actions, our thoughts and our lives, we strengthen our ability to sit with ourselves in true authenticity.  It is through dedication to honesty, awareness and self-reflection that we begin to heal ourselves from the inside out.  In healing ourselves, we cultivate self-acceptance.  With self-acceptance, we gain in our ability to accept others - this brings about lightness, peace and positivity.  Radiating from the inside out, we uplift our families, and our local and global communities.

What you can dream, you can manifest!  The alchemy of turning dreams into reality is three fold:

Ekagrata: single pointedness of mind, clear intention

Abhyasa: dedicated and consistent practice

Faith: belief in something greater than yourself

Imagination is a powerful tool, what is your dream?

Katrina Eden is a native Californian who aspires to live life fully.  Her greatest wisdom stems from her commitment to reflect upon her own life experiences as well as her desire to remain teachable.   Her definition of success is: "being able to sit in both darkness and light with complete faith, unconditional love, uninterrupted, undisturbed and with total acceptance."   Her mission in life is to empower the healing nature of the individual though yoga, art, and therapeutic modalities of practice.

My story: I tried nearly every path I could IMAGINE.  Yoga found me when I was in college.  The teachings of David Swenson planted the seed of self-realization, yet it was not until after I had just returned from Europe (my big escape from reality, responsibility and emotions) that I was ready to see clearly.  In the Fall of 2001 yoga met me where I was.  I was curious at first, yet as I began to dig deeper I became overwhelmed and filled with fear.  I had seen light at the end of the tunnel, yet lacked the tools and the faith necessary to journey to the other side.

For 5 years I lived the life of a wandering escapist, running from my Self at every opportunity until finally, I hit bottom.  I had completely exhausted all of my options for finding balance and peace - I was finally ready to surrender and pick up where I had left off years before.

My first year back on my mat was filled with tears, and in the process much undoing was done.  I connected to a community of conscious individuals who shared with me thier authenticity.  The community held a safe environment where I was able to mirror myself and sharpen my tools.  It was in sacred circle, in the company of others who value truth, presence and respect, that I found the wholeness I had been seeking all along.

The journey continues.  My life is now a constant flow of healing, growth and transformation.  As I improve upon my abilities to relax, to self soothe and to surrender, I am gifted with a greater sense of inner peace and endless gratitude.  Life inspires my practice and my practice inspires my artwork.

My dream is help heal the world by sharing the wisdom, strength and experience which enables me to heal my Self; one day at a time.
